AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 11364 PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL ON THE 21ST DAY OF MARCH, 1973, TO PROVIDE
FOR A CHANGE OF NAME IN THE FRANCHISE GRANTED BY SAID
ORDINANCE FROM "AL ESCALANTE DBA CORPUS CHRISTI SIGHT-
SEEING SERVICE" TO "CORPUS CHRISTI SIGHT -SEEING SERVICE, .
INC., DBA GRAY LINE OF CORPUS CHRISTI "; KEEPING IN
EFFECT ALL OTHER PROVISIONS OF ORDINANCE N0. 11364; AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 11364, passed and approved by the
City Council on the 21st day of March, 1973, be and the same is hereby amended
so as to change the name in the franchise granted by said Ordinance from
"AL ESCALANE DBA CORPUS CHRISTI SIGHTSEEING SERVICE" to "CORPUS CHRISTI SIGHT-
SEEING SERVICE, INC., DBA GRAYLINE OF CORPUS CHRISTI ", That all other provisions
of said Ordinance and the Franchise granted therein shall be kept in full force
and effect.
SECTION 2. The necessity to make the aforesaid amendment to reflect
the change in name of the grantee in said franchise creates a public emergency
and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter
rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its
introduction but that said ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several
meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, having declared that such emergency
and necessity exist, having requested the suspension of the said Charter rule
and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and
take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS
ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the day of August, 1973.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing
ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspen-
sion of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall
be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or
resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore,
request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordi-
nance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the
City Council,
