HomeMy WebLinkAbout11683 ORD - 09/05/1973�JRR:jkh:hb:8 /31/73:lst • AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING OUT OF NO. 220 STREET BOND FUND THE SUM OF $2935 FOR AWARD OF SPECIAL COM- MISSIONERS' FEES, APPRAISAL FEES AND COURT AND TITLE COSTS IN CONNECTION WITH ACQUISITION OF PARCEL NO. 29, SOUTH STAPLES - PADRE ISLAND TO SARATOGA IMPROVEMENTS, PROJECT NO. 220 -70- 107; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated out of No.220 Street Bond Fund the sum of $2935 for Award of Special Commissioners, Commissioners' fees, appraisal fees and court and title costs in connection with acquisition of Parcel No. 29, South Staples - Padre Island to Saratoga Improvements, Project No. 220 -70 -107, being cause No. 677 in Condemnation Proceedings, styled City of Corpus Christi v. Johnie Hunt, et al. SECTION 2. The necessity to appropriate the hereinabove described sums in order that the City may take possession of the aforesaid parcel in connection with the South Staples - Padre Island to Saratoga Improvements creates a public emergency and an imperative public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its intro- duction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity exist, and having re- quested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage.
