HomeMy WebLinkAbout11696 ORD - 09/12/1973JRR:jkh:9- 11 -73; let AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF CHANGE ORDER N0. 1 TO THE CONTRACT WITH ALLIED PENCE COMPANY FOR THE CORPUS CHRISTI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT PERIMETER AND SECURITY FENCE; APPROPRIATING OUT OF NO. 245 AIRPORT BOND FOND $3521.36 FOR SAID CHANGE ORDER, APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 245- 68 -15; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to execute Change Order No. 1 to the contract with Allied Fence Company for the Corpus Christi International Airport Perimeter and Security Fence, as more fully set forth in the Change Order No. 1, a copy of which is attached hereto and marked Exhibit "A ", made a part hereof. SECTION 2. There is hereby appropriated out of No. 245 Airport Bond Fund $3521.36 for the aforesaid Change Order, applicable to Project No. 245- 68 -15. SECTION 3. The necessity to authorize the execution of the afore- said Change Order to the contract as above described creates a public emer- gency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and M after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the /,7- day of September, 1973. Date August 7, G�1 •�'(a ; Nwne of Project International Airport Perimeter and security Fence Contractor Allied Fence Company CHANGE 1) Change all 20 foot double gates as shown on the plane to 24 foot farm double gates of 5 panels and 38 inches high, at no extra cost. 2) Add two 24 foot perimeter gates at $140.78 per gate. 3) Add 1,820 feet of security fence at $2.19 per L.F. and deduct 1,820 feot of perimeter fence at $0.41 per L.F. The contractor has furnished details of farm gates and they have been approved by Engineering & Physical Development and Airport Officials. The increase in width of the gates was due to farm equipment being wider than anticipated. The two extra gates were for entrance purposes onto the farm tracts within the airport property. The additional security fence will be for fencing around TropicAir Aviation who is a fixed -base operator, located at the Northeast section of the airnnrt- Please see attached letter for reasons of needing a security fence around Tropic Air How can similar changes be avoided in the future? Corpus Christi, Texas day of , 19 /- TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL Corpus Christi, Texas For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspen- sion of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordi- nance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
