AN ORDINANCE
MAKING FINDINGS OF FACT; AMENDING THE MASTER PLAN
OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI TO MAKE PROVISION
FOR ADDITIONAL ACREAGE FOR PROTECTION OF FLIGHT
PATTERNS AND FOR FUTURE EXPANSION AT THE CORPUS
CHRISTI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT; PROVIDING THAT THE
LAND NOW DEVOTED TO AIRPORT AND RELATED PURPOSES
BE INCREASED BY APPROXIMATELY 3,300 ACRES, AS SHOWN
ON THE MAP ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF,
MARKED EXHIBIT "A "; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION; AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the Zoning and Planning Commission has made recommendations
for the amending of the Master Plan for the Physical Development of the City
to increase the land now devoted to airport and related purposes by approxi-
mately 3,300 acres; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Article 5, Section 4, City Charter, the City
Council held a public hearing regarding said amendment on September 12, 1973;
and
WHEREAS, said amendment shall become part of the Master Plan subject
to the rules and regulations provided in Article 5, Section 5, City Charter;
and
WHEREAS, it has been determined by the City Council that it is
advantageous and necessary to provide additional acreage for protection of
flight patterns and for future expansion at the Corpus Christi International
Airport:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the lands now devoted to Airport and related
purposes at the Corpus Christi International Airport be increased by approxi-
mately 3,300 acres, as shown on the map attached hereto and made a part
hereof, marked Exhibit "A ", and such change shall become part of the City's
Master Plan for Physical Development and the land contained therein subject
to the rules, regulations, and restrictions contained in Article 5, Section 5,
City Charter.
SECTION 2. Publication shall be made one time in the official
publication of the City of Corpus Christi, which publication shall contain
the full text of said ordinance.

SECTION 3. The necessity to adopt the provisions herein at the
earliest practicable date creates a public emergency and an imperative public
necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance
or resolution shall be passed finpfly on the date of its introduction but
that such ordinance or resolution shell be read at three several meetings
of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity
to exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that
this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take
effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, and
publication, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing
ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspen-
sion of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall
be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or
resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore,
request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordi-
nance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the
City Council.
