HomeMy WebLinkAbout11713 ORD - 09/26/1973JRR:jkh:9- 25 -73; let • AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH TOWNSCO CONTRACTING COMPANY, INC., FOR CORPUS CHRISTI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT CENTER LINE STRIPING OF THE RUNWAY; APPROPRIATING AND REAPPROPRIATING $2150 OUT OF NO. 117 AIRPORT FUND, AIRPORT ACTIVITY 5411, CODE 345, OF WHICH $2121.60 IS FOR THE CONSTRUC- TION CONTRACT AND $28.40 IS FOR CONTINGENICES AND INCIDENTAL EXPENSES; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to execute a contract with Townsco Contracting Company, Inc., for Corpus Christi International Airport Center Line striping of the Runway, all as more fully described in the plans and specifications and contract documents on file in the Office of the City Secretary, all of which are made a part hereof by reference and according to the bid of Townsco Contracting Company, Inc.,opened on the 19th day of September, 1973, the said bid of Townsco Contracting Company, Inc., being the lowest and most advantageous to the City of Corpus Christi. SECTION 2. There is hereby appropriated and reappropriated $2150 out of No. 317 Airport Fund, Airport Activity 5411, Code 3459 of which $2121.60 is for the construction contract and $28.40 is for contingencies and incidental expenses. SECTION 3. The necessity to execute the aforesaid contract and to appropriate and reappropriate the sums hereinabove set forth at the earliest practicable date so that construction may commence without delay creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolute shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be '1"713 • passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the_QLk_day of September, 1973.
