FOR CONSTRUCTION OF STREET IMPROVE- MENTS ON 15TH, 17TH, 18TH, ELIZABETH, PRESCOTT, DOLORES, AND ESPINOSA STREETS, PROJECT NO. 220- 67 -92.9; SAID CHANGE ORDER PROVIDING FOR REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT OF 5 FOOT WIDE SIDEWALK ON 18TH STREET ADJACENT TO T. G. ALLEN SCHOOL; THE COST OF SAID CHANGE ORDER TO COME FROM CONTINGENCY FUNDS PREVIOUSLY APPROPRIATED BY ORDINANCE NO. 11592; APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON JULY 25, 1973; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to execute Change Order No. 2 for $2,800 to the contract with Asphalt Maintenance Company, Inc. providing for removal and replacement of 5 -foot wide sidewalk on 18th Street adjacent to T. G. Allen School, as set out in the Change Order, a copy of which is attached hereto, in connection with construction of street improvements on 15th, 17th, 18th, Elizabeth, Prescott, Dolores, and Espinosa Streets, Project No. 220 -67 -92.9, the cost of said Change Order to come from con- tingency funds previously appropriated by Ordinance No. 11,592, approved by the City Council on July 25, 1973. SECTION 2. The necessity to execute the said Change Order as soon as practicable in order that the aforesaid street construction may proceed without delay creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the —9A X_day of October, 1973.
