HomeMy WebLinkAbout11762 ORD - 10/31/1973•JRR:e: 10/31/73 • 1st AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3658, AS AMENDED, BY ADDING A NEW POSITION CLASSIFICATION OF COUNSELOR I, GRADE 22, JOB CODE 172, TO THE GENERAL ADMI ISTh RATIVE SERIES, AND BY ADDING A NEW POSITION CLASSIFICATION OF TRAFFIC SIGNAL SUPERVISOR, GRADE 25, JOB CODE 843, TOABOR AND TRADES SERIES; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Section 4 of Ordinance No. 3658 be, and the same is hereby amended by adding the following position classification to the General Administrative series: JOB CODE CLASS TITLE CLASS GRADE 172 Counselor I 22 and by adding the following position classification to the Labor and Trades series: JOB CODE CLASS TITLE CLASS GRADE 843 Traffic Signal Supervisor 25. SECTION 2. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word, or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction it shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word, or provision of this ordinance, for it is the definite intent of this City Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word, or provision hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose. SECTION 3. The effective date of the above changes shall be October 29, 1973. SECTION 4. The fact that there is an immediate need to create certain new positions and a need to maintain an efficient administration of City affairs creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter Rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordi- nance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, having requested the suspension of the said Charter Rule, and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction 11 762 and that such ordinance take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the 31st day of October, 1973.
