HomeMy WebLinkAbout11818 ORD - 12/12/1973JRR:vp:11 /19/73:1st AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CORPUS CHRISTI CITY CODE, 1958, AS AMENDED, BY AMENDING SECTION 21 -129 "DEFINITIONS" SO AS TO ADD WASHINGTON'S BIRTHDAY, COLUMBUS DAY AND VETERANS DAY TO THE LIST OF HOLIDAYS ON WHICH PARKING METER REGULATIONS ARE NOT ENFORCED; PRO- VIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLI- CATION. BE IT ORDAINED BY 'TTt CITY COUNCIL, OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the Corpus Christi City Code, 1958, as emended, be and the same is hereby amended by amending Section 21 -129 DJ 'IN1'1'.ONS, Holidays, to hereafter read as follows: "Holiday. As used in this division and as appearing on parking meters, the word "Holiday" shall mean any of the following days: (a) New Year's Day (b) Washington's Birthday (c) Memorial Day (d) Independence Day (e) Labor Day (f) Columbus Day (g) Veteran's Day (h) Thanksgiving Day (i) Christmas Day." SECTION 2. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word, or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction it shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word, or provision of this ordinance, for it is the definite intent of this City Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word, or provision hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose. SECTION 3. Publication shall be made one time in the official publication of the City of Corpus Christi, by publishing the caption of this Ordinance, stating in substance the purpose of the ordinance. 11818 • • That the foregoing ordinance was read for the first time and passed to its second reading on this the y21.42. day of lQtkalyra24—, 19 7 , by the following vote: Jason Luby James T.
