HomeMy WebLinkAbout11830 RES - 12/12/1973r� JRR:jkh :hb :12/7/73 A RESOLUTION CHANGING THE NAME OF THE WOODLAWN REC- REATION CENTER TO OAR PARR RECREATION CENTER; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. • BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the name of " WOODLAWN RECREATION CENTER" in the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, be and the same is hereby changed to "OAR PARR RECREATION CENTER ". Wherever in any contract, grant or other instrument the name " Woodlawn" appears, the name "Oak Park" shall be substituted therefor. Except for this change, all instruments will continue in full force and effect. SECTION 2. The fact that the change of name of the recreation center as above indicated should be made as soon as practicable in order that all references to Woodlawn Recreation Center shall hereafter be corrected creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its intro- duction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this resolution be passed finally on the date of its intro- duction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO RESOLVED, this the�day of December, 1973.
