HomeMy WebLinkAbout11851 ORD - 12/26/1973• J'RR:jkh:hb ;12/2(/73:lst AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF CHANGE ORDER NO.5 TO THE CONTRACT FOR CONSTRUCTION ON MAYFIELD- STARLITE LANE AREA DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS WITH KING CONSTRUCTION COMPANY; APPROPRIATING $3,020 OUT OF NO.296 STORM SEWER BOND FUND APPLICABLE TO PROJECT 296 -70 -1; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to execute Change Order No. 5 to the contract for construction of Mayfield - Starlite Lane Area Drainage Improvements, with King Construction Company, said Change Order providing for construction as set forth in the Change Order, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, marked Exhibit "A ". SECTION 2. There is hereby appropriated the sum of $3,020, applicable to Project No. 296 -70 -1. SECTION 3. The necessity to authorize execution of the aforesaid Change Order and to appropriate the necessary sums therefor creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be 'read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this ^the day of December, 1973. do C y ecre a - MAYO THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS APPROVED: __ J DAY OF CEMBER, 1973: U. Necessity for change: Recent heavy rains washed out the smaller pipe that was installed on the north end of the McKenzie Road structure and caused considerable erosion in adjoining areas. The proposed 30" and 112" pipe should help to retard the erosion. 2. Is proposed change an alternate bid? F1 Yea ® No 3.
