HomeMy WebLinkAbout11853 ORD - 12/26/1973• JRR:jkh:12- 21-73; let � • AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 11123, PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON OCTOBER 11, 1972 SO AS TO REVISE THE APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS FOR THE AWARD OF A CONTRACT TO BURTEX CONSTRUCTORS, INC. FOR GREENWOOD AND WEST POINT ROAD STREET IMPROVEMENTS SO THAT SAID REVISION WILL PROVIDE THAT OF THE APPROPRIATION OF $545,000 THE SUM OF $514,621.43 WILL BE FOR THE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT, $10,138.32 FOR THE ADDITIONAL ENGINEERING FEES OF MMOE & BASS, CONSULTING ENGINEERS, AND $20,240.25 WILL BE FOR CONTINGENCIES AND INCIDENTAL EXPENSES; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: 91-1 SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 11123, passed and approved by the City Council on October 11, 1972, be and the same is hereby amended to revise the appropriation of funds for the award of a contract to Burtex Constructors, Inc. for Greenwood and West Point Road street improvements so as to provide that of the appropriation of $545,000 authorized by said Ordinance No. 11123, the sum of $514,621.43 will be for the construc- tion contract; $10,138.32 will be for the additional engineering fees of Munroe & Bass, Consulting Engineers; and $20,240.25 will be for con- tingencies and incidental expenses. SECTION 2. The necessity to immediately revise the aforesaid Ordinance No. 11123 so as to correctly reflect the project costs as above set forth creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolu- tion shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect from and a£ er its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINID,,.this the day of Secre a MAYOR THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS Vim, 2 �._ � /li 73 City Atto__a y / Corpus Christi, Texas fL day of , 19_7 TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL Corpus Christi, Texas For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspen- sion of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordi- nance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
