A RESOLUTION
ADOPTING A PROJECT SCHEDULE IN CONNECTION WITH THE
PADRE ISLAND COLLECTION & TREATMENT SYSTEM AND THE
CLARRWOOD COLLECTION SYSTEM, E.P.A. PROJECT NO.
WPC -Tea -899, FOR WHICH A GRANT APPLICATION HAS BEEN
MADE TO THE TEXAS WATER QUALITY BOARD AND THE
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY PURSUANT TO THE
FEDERAL WATER POLLUTION CONTROL ACT AMENDMENTS OF
1972, PUBLIC LAW 92 -500, AND THE REGULATIONS AND RULES
THERETO, THE PROJECT SCHEDULE BEING MORE FULLY SET
FORTH HEREINAFTER; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the City of Corpus Christi has made application to the
Texas Water Quality Board and the Environmental Protection Agency for a
Federal Grant pursuant to the Federal Water Pollution Control Act Amendments
of 1972, Public Law 92 -500, and the rules and regulations thereto; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council to adopt a project
schedule in connection with the Padre Island Collection & Treatment System
and the Clarkwood Collection System, E.P.A. Project No. WPC -Tex -899:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1., That the application for which Federal Grant assistance
has been requested pursuant to the Federal Water Pollution Control Act
Amendments of 1972, Public Law 92 -500, will be constructed to completion in
accordance with the laws, rules, and regulations and with the following
project schedule:

SECTION 2. That the City of Corpus Christi understands that the
above project schedule must be approved by the Texas Water Quality Board
and the Environmental Protection Agency, and that once a project schedule
has been approved, no changes will be authorized without first receiving
approval of the change from the Texas Water Quality Board and the Environ-
mental Protection Agency.
SECTION 3. The fact that the City of Corpus Christi has made
application for a Federal Grant pursuant to the Federal Water Pollution
Control Act Amendments of 1972, and the rules and regulations thereto, and

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing
ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspen-
sion of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall
be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or
resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore,
request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordi-
nance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the
City Council.

that said City desires to provide the Texas Water quality Board and the
Environmental Protection Agency with a project schedule as outlined herein —
above in compliance with the rules and regulations of the said Board and
Agency creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity
requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolu-
tion shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such
ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City
Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity exist,
and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this
resolution be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect
and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY
