HomeMy WebLinkAbout11877 ORD - 01/16/19740 JRR:jkh:hb:1/16 /i4:lst AN ORDINANCE CHANGING THE NAME OF POLARIS STREET TO GEMINI STREET AND SATURN DRIVE TO CENTAURUS STREET, IN STARCREST PLACE, UNIT I, IN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. C J HE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the name of Polaris Street in the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, be, and the same is hereby changed to Gemini Street and that the name of Saturn Drive in the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas be and the same is hereby changed to Cen- taurus Drive, said streets being situated in Starcrest Place, Unit I. SECTION 2. That the Director of Traffic Engineering be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to cause to be removed any street signs or markers which are erroneous after the passage of this ordinance and to erect new street signs or markers at appropriate places designating the correct names of the above streets. SECTION 3. The fact that the change of names as above set forth should be designated by appropriate markers, and designations should be made as promptly as possible, creates a public emergency and an im- perative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the 16 day of January, 1974.
