HomeMy WebLinkAbout11894 ORD - 01/30/1974JRR:jkh:1- 30 -74; let S 0 AN ORDINANCE APPOINTING DAN FLYNN JUDGE OF THE MUNICIPAL COURT IN CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS - "A" AND PRESIDING JUDGE OF THE CORPUS CHRISTI MUNICIPAL COURTS; PRESCRIBING THE SALARY FOR SAID OFFICES; PROVIDING FOR REPEAL OF ALL CONFLICTING ORDINANCES; PROVIDING EFFECTIVE DATE JULY 1, 1974; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. The appointment of Dan Flynn as Judge of the Municipal Court in Corpus Christi, Texas - "A" and as Presiding Judge of the Municipal Courts in the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, by nomination of the Mayor and confirmation by the City Council is hereby declared and affirmed. Said appointment shall be subject to the provisions of City ordinances, the City Charter, and State laws concerning Municipal Courts. SECTION 2. The annual gross salary of the said Judge of the said Municipal Court - "A" and as the said Presiding Judge is hereby fixed at Pay Grade 36 (F Step), now $1465 per month, payable out of the General Funds of the City. SECTION 3. This appointment shall become effective as of July 1, 1974. SECTION 4. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed to the extent of said conflict, if any. SECTION 5. The necessity for immediate provision for the appointment_. of the Judge of the Municipal Court in Corpus Christi, Texas - "A ", and the fixing of salary creates a public emergency and an imperative public neces- sity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that 11894 this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the 30th day of January, 1474.
