TEXAS:
AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING THE ELECTRICAL LICENSING ORDINANCE,
ORDINANCE NO. 9499, AS AMENDED, 50 AS TO EXEMPT THE
STATE AND FEDERAL GOVERNMENTS FFOM THE REQUIREMENTS
OF THE ELECTRICAL LICENSING ORDINANCE; PROVIDING
FOR PUBLICATION; AND PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
SECTION 1. That the Electrical Licensing Ordinance, Ordinance No.
9499, as amended, be amended by adding a new paragraph (d) to Section 2 -14:
EXCEPTIONS FROM LICENSE REQUIREMENTS to hereafter read as follows:
"(d) The installation, alteration, or repair of electric wiring,
devices, appliances and equipment installed by or for the state or federal
government in connection with construction or repair of buildings used,
owned, and located on property owned by said state or federal government.
Nothing herein shall be construed as a waiver on the part of the City of
any inspection fee or other fee for services that the City may lawfully
collect."
SECTION 2. Publication shall be made in the official publication of
the City of Corpus Christi, one time, which publication shall contain the
caption stating in substance the purpose of the ordinance.
SECTION 3. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision,
clause, phrase, word, or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid
or unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction it
shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase,
word, or provision of this ordinance, for it is the definite intent of this
City Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word,
or provision hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose.
