AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CON-
TRACT WITH AUSCO, INC., FOR CONSTRUCTION OF
CORPUS CHRISTI MARINA - 1974 SLIP ADDITIONS;
APPROPRIATING OUT OF NO. 292 MARINA BOND FUND
THE SUM OF $205,000, OF WHICH $187,980 IS FOR
THE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT AND $17,020 IS FOR
CONTINGENCIES, INCLUDING LEGAL FEES AND FINAN-
CIAL ADVISOR'S FEES IN CONNECTION WITH THE SALE
OF CERTIFICATES OF OBLIGATION, AND OTHER IN-
CIDENTAL EXPENSES, ALL IN CONNECTION WITH PRO-
JECT NO. 292 -74 -1; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby
authorized to execute a contract with AUSCO, Inc., for construction of
Corpus Christi Marina - 1974 Slip Additions, all as is more fully described
in the plans and specifications and contract documents on file in the
office of the City Secretary, all of which are made a part hereof by
reference and according to the bid of AUSCO, Inc., opened on the 6th day
of February, 1974, said bid of AUSCO, Inc. being the lowest and most advan-
tageous to the City of Corpus Christi.
SECTION 2. There is hereby appropriated out of the No.292
Marina Bond Fund the sum of $2050000, of which $187,980 is for the con-
struction contract and $17,020 is for contingencies, including legal fees
and financial advisor's fees in connection with the sale of Certificates
of Obligation, and for other incidental expenses, all applicable to Project
No. 292 -74 -1.
SECTION 3. The necessity to execute the aforesaid contract
and to appropriate the sums hereinabove set out at the earliest possible
date so that construction may be commenced without delay creates a public
emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of
the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally
on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution
shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor
having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having re-
quested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be

passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in
full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO
ORDAINED, this the day of February, 1974.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing
ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspen-
sion of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall
be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or
resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore,
request that you suspend said Chaster rule or requirement and pass this ordi-
nance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the
City Council.

for the contract, agreement, obligation or expenditures contemplated in the
above and foregoing ordinance is in the Treasury of the City of Corpus Christi
