AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING THE WASTEWATER (SEWER) MASTER PLAN BY
EXPANDING THE SERVICE AREA IN THE CALALLEN AREA
TO INCLUDE APPROXIMATELY 380 ACRES SOUTH OF THE
CITY LIMITS LINE AND BETWEEN THE MISSOURI PACIFIC
RAILROAD AND U. S. HIGHWAY 77 AND APPROXIMATELY
350 ACRES NORTH OF FARM TO MARKET ROAD NO. 624
AND WEST OF U. S. HIGHWAY 77 TO THE MAIN CANAL OF
NUECES COUNTY WATER CONTROL AND IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT
NO. 3 AND THE NUECES RIVER; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 6752, passed and approved by the City
Council on January 9, 1963, the City entered into a contract with Reagan and
McCaughan for preparation of a Master Sanitary Sewer Plan; and
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 7441, passed and approved by the City
Council on December 23, 1964, the said Master Sanitary Sewer Plan was adopted
following a public hearing on that same date; and
WHEREAS, the City Council, after a public hearing conducted on
February 13, 1974, deems it expedient to expand the service area set forth

in the aforesaid Master Sanitary Sewer Plan:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Wastewater (Sewer) Master Plan adopted by the
City Council by Resolution No. 7441, on December 23, 1964, to provide sewer
service to certain areas of the City of Corpus Christi be and the same is hereb,
amended to expand the service area in the Calallen area to include approximately
380 acres south of the City limits line, and between the Missouri Pacific
Railroad and U. S. Highway 77, and approximately 350 acres north of
FM 624 and west of U. S. Highway 77 to the main canal of Nueces County Water
Control and Improvement District No. 3 and the Nueces River.
SECTION 2. The necessity to amend the Wastewater (Sewer) Master
Plan so as to expand the service area in the Calallen area as hereinabove set
forth creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring
the suspension of the Charter rule that noordinance or resolution shall be passed
finally m the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution
shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having

declared such emergency and necessity to exist, having requested the suspension
of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of
its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after
its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the =day of February,
1974.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing
ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspen-
sion of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall
be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or
resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore,
request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordi-
nance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the
City Council.
