AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 8879, KNOWN AS THE "LAND
DRILLING ORDINANCE ", AS AMENDED, BY AMENDING
SUBSECTION 4.5 OF SAID ORDINANCE SO AS TO PRO-
VIDE THAT NO WELL SHALL BE DRILLED AT ANY
LOCATION WHICH IS ON OR MORE THAN 200 FEET
FROM THE EXTERIOR BOUNDARY LINE OF THE LANDS
UTILIZED FOR CURETERIES OR PUBLIC PARRS; PRO-
VIDING FOR SEVERABILITY AND PROVIDING FOR
PUBLICATION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 8879, known as the "Land
Drilling Ordinance" of bhe City of Corpus Christi, as amended, be and the
same is hereby amended to hereafter read as follows:
"Subsection 4.5. No well shall be drilled at
any location which is on, or less than 200
feet from the exterior boundary line of lands
utilized for cemeteries or public parks."
SECTION 2. If for any reason any section, paragraph, sub-
division, clause, phrase, word, or provision of this ordinance shall be held
invalid or unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent
jurisdiction it shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision,
clause, phrase, ward, or provision of this ordinance, for it is the definite
intent of this City Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision,
clause, phrase, word, or provision hereof be given full force and effect
for its purpose.
SECTION 3. Publication shall be made one time by publishing
in the official newspaper of the City of Corpus Christi the caption of
this ordinance, stating in substance the purpose of the ordinance.
