HomeMy WebLinkAbout11974 ORD - 03/27/1974Jq ca:.1- [ /- /4:Znd AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI ADOPTED ON THE 27TH DAY OF AUGUST, 1937, APPEARING OF RECORD IN VOLUME 9, PAGES 565, ET SEQ, OF THE ORDINANCE AND RESOLUTION RECORDS, AS AMENDED FROM TIME TO TIME AND PARTICULARLY AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 6106, As MENDED, UPON APPLICATION OF SAM PERKINS BY AMENDING THE ZONING MAP BY CHANGING THE ZONING ON CARROLLETON ANNEX #3, BLOCK 1 LOT 1, AW ALL OF NCOCK TRACT AND THE CITY -OWNED PROPERTY iCDNTA -NING APPROX A 1y 4-91 ACRFSI MORE Fu y nc SCRIBED HEREINAFTER SITUATED IN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI NUE OUNTY TE7 S FROM "R -1B" ONE- FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT TO" '� DISTRICT; KEEPING IN EFFECT ALL OTHER PROVISIONS OF EXISTING ORDINANCE AS AMENDED; _3 Z� -7 REPEALING ALL ORDI 'ES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has forwarded to the City Council its reports and recommendations concerning the application of Sam Perkins for amendment to the zoning map of the'City of Corpus Christi; and WHER.Et,S; public hearing was held at which hearing all persons wishing to appear and be heard were heard, to consider the same before the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, in accordance with proper notice to the public, said public hearing having been held on _Wednesday �7-7 March 27, 1974 at � ` / ' Council Meeting of the City � Council in the Council Chamber at City Hall in the City of Corpus Christi; and WHEPF -d.5, by motion duly made, seconded and carried, it was decided by the City Council that to approve the hereinafter set forth amendment would best serve public health, necessity and convenience and the general welfare of the City of Corpus Christi and its citizens: NOG13 THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED -BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed on the 27th day of August, 1937, appearing of record in Volume 9, gages 565, et seq, of the Ordinance slid P,esolution R,- ,curdz, as a ended, from time to tire, and in particular as amended by Ordinance No. 6106, as amended, be and the same is hereby amended by making the chant, hereinafter set out. 11974 0 0 SECTION 2. That the zoning of the Carrolleton Annex #3 Block 1, Lot 1, and, all of Hancock Tract and the City -owned property (containing approximately 4.91 acres), situated in the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, more particularly described hereinafter, be aid the same . is hereby changed from "R -1B" One - family Dwelling District to House District: All of Carrolleton Addition, Unit 3 Annex, Block 1, Lot 1. All of Hancock Tract.' City -owned property: Being a portion out of Lot 6, Section D, Paisley Subdivision of the Hoffman Tract, as recorded in Volume A, Page 28, Nueces County Map Records, Nueces County, Texas. Beginning at a 5/8" iron rod in the southwest corner of the Hancock Tract; Thence South 28° 30 minutes west for distance of 55' to a 5/8" iron rod, such point also being the northwest corner of Lot 1, Block 1, Carrolleton Addition, Unit 3 Annex; east Thence south 61° 40 minutes %for 'a distance of 310' to a point for corner; Thence North 280 30 minutes east for a distance of 55' to a 5/8" iron rod; Thence North 61° 30 minutes west to the place of beginning, such area containing approximately 0.25 acres of land, more or less. SECTION 3. That the official zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, be, and the same is hereby, amended as herein ordained. SECTION 4. That the Zoning Ordinance and Map of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, approved on the 27th day of August, 1937, as amanded from time to time, except as herein changed, shall remain -in full force and effect. SECTION 5. That.all ordinances or parts of ordinances in con- flict herewith are hereby expressly repealed. SECTION 6. That the necessity of immediately making aforesaid change for the purpose of maintaining at all times a comprehensive zoning ordinance for the City of Corpus Christi creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension o.f the Charter • rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at throe several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage.
