SRR.Skh:4 -2 -74; 1st Y AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE COMPENSATION PLAN, ORDINANCE NO. 3658, AS AMENDED, BY AMENDING SECTION 4 THEREOF SO AS TO CREATE CERTAIN POSITIONS IN THE LABOR AND TRADES SUPERVISION SERIES AND IN THE SKILLED AND SEMI- SKILLED TRADES SERIES; AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 8127, AS AMENDED, BY AMENDING SECTION 7, SUBSECTION (b), PROVIDING FOR OVERTIME COMPENSATION FOR ALL EMPLOYEES IN GRADE 22 AND BELOW, BY AMENDING THE FIRST SENTENCE OF SAID SUBSECTION (b) OF SECTION 7 OF ORDINANCE NO. 8127, AS AMENDED; PROVIDING SEVERANCE CLAUSE; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Section 4 of Ordinance No. 3658, as amended, be and,the same is hereby amended, by creating the following positions: LABOR AND TRADES SUPERVISION SERIES: CLASS CODE CLASS TITLE CLASS GRADE 742 Radio Maintenance Superintendent 31 SKILLED AND SEMI- SKILLED TRADES SERIES: 836 Radio Technician Trainee 16 SECTION 2. That Section 7, Subsection (b), of Ordinance No. 8127, as amended, be and the same is hereby amended by amending the first sentence to hereafter read as follows: "All full -time employees in positions of classes in grade 22 and below, Equipment Operator IV's, engineering design personnel, Senior Radio Technicians and all positions in the Police and Fire series, except Police and Fire Chiefs, shall be paid for authorized overtime work at the rate of one and one -half times the regular rate, provided that such rate for posi- tions in the Fire series with scheduled work weeks other than 40 hours shall be computed on the basis of 173.33 hours per month." SECTION 3. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word, or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction, it shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word, or provision of this ordinance, for it is the definite incenc n977 of this City Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, Phrase, word, or provision hereof be given full force and effect for its Purpose. SECTION 4. The provisions of this ordinance shall take effect and bein full force and effect from and after its passage. SECTION 5. The fact that there is a need to maintain at all times an efficient administration of City affairs creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date Of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, having requested the suspension of said Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the day of , 1974. Corpus Christi, Texas For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspen- sion of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordi- nance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
