HomeMy WebLinkAbout11985 ORD - 04/03/1974JRR:j *:4- 2- 74;lst AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 11518, PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON THE 13TH DAY OF JUNE, 1973, BY AMENDING SECTION 3 OF SAID ORDINANCE SO AS TO CORRECT AND ADJUST THE ASSESSMENTS LEVIED AGAINST ABUTTING PROPERTY OWNERS ON THE FOLLOWING STREET: Columbia Drive from the south right of way line of Lolita Street to the north right of way line of Bloomington Street, AS HEREINAFTER PROVIDED; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 11518, passed and approved by the City Council on the 13th day of June, 1973, closing the hearing on street • improvements for a portion of Columbia Drive, in the City of Corpus Christi, be amended by correcting and adjusting the assessments levied against abutting property on the following street: Columbia Drive, from the south right of way line of Lolita Street to the north right of way line of Bloomington Street, as more fully described in the corrected and adjusted assessment roll, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, marked Exhibit "A ". SECTION 2. The necessity to immediately amend the assessment roll as herein set forth creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the day of April, 1974. The street shall be excavated to a depth and width to permit the laying of a standard curb and gutter section and a pavement width of 41 feet measured from back to back of curb, with a 6" compacted sub- grade, 10" compacted caliche base and 2" Type D hot -mix asphalt surface. 5' wide, 4" thick tied to back of curb sidewalks and standard driveways where specified or requested by the property owners will also be installed. All necessary drainage and appurtenances to properly drain this street are also to be constructed. The assessment rates have been calculated in accordance with the City's assessment policy using the unit bid prices as submitted by Burtex Constructors, the low bidder on the Horne Road project.
