HomeMy WebLinkAbout11994 ORD - 04/10/1974JRR:0d:3- 13- 74:lst - TEXAS: AN ORDINANCE CHANGING THE NAME OF BREEZEWAY STREET, BETWEEN THE 2800 BLOCK OF SOUTH ALAMEDA AND AUSTIN STREET, TO ANGEL AVENUE; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, SECTION 1. That the name of "BREEZEWAY STREET ", between the 2800 Block of South Alameda and Austin Street, in the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, be and the same is hereby changed to "ANGEL AVENUE ". SECTION 2. That the Director of Traffic Engineering be and he is • hereby authorized and directed to cause to be removed any street signs or markers which are erroneous after the passage of this ordinance and to erect new street signs or markers at appropriate places designating the correct name of the portion of the street as hereinabove set forth. SECTION 3. The fact that the change of name as above set forth should be designated by appropriate markers, and designation should be made as promptly as possible, creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the /D` day of / 97 ATTEST: t Ci y secretary APP MVED: a DAY OF lhlt,jv,� i 4r if:; , I City Attorney MAYO 0a 1:::V THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS 11994 Corpus Christi, Texas fQday of , 19 _ T TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL Corpus Christi, Texas For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspen- sion of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordi- nance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
