HomeMy WebLinkAbout12017 ORD - 04/24/1974• JRR:vp:4 /23/74:1st AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH STORM LANDSCAPING FOR GREENWOOD PARR, PHASE -B, STAGE 1, CONTRACT "C" FOR LANDSCAPING; APPROPRIATING OUT OF THE NO. 291 PARK BOND FUND $18,000, OF WHICH $16,809 IS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT AND $1,191 IS FOR CONTINGENCIES AND INCIDENTAL EXPENSES, ALL APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 291- 70- 9.4;AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized • to execute a contract with Storm Landscaping for Greenwood Park, Phase-B, Stage 1, Contract "C" for landscaping of said Greenwood Park, all as is more fully described in the plans and specifications and contract documents on file in the office of the City Secretary, all of which are made a part hereof by reference and according to the bid of Storm Landscaping, opened on the 27th day of March, 1974, said bid of Storm Landscaping being the lowest and most advantageous to the City of Corpus Christi. SECTION 2. There is hereby appropriated out of the No. 291 Park Bond Fund $18,000, of which $16,809 is for the construction contract and $1,191 is for contingencies and incidental expenses, all applicable to Project No. 291- 70 -9.4. SECTION 3. The necessity to execute the aforesaid contract and to appropriate the sums hereinabove set out at the earliest possible date so that construction may be commenced without delay creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the a day of April, 1974• ATTEST City gecrethry APPRO DAY Ale Sty Attorney MAYOR THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS 1201'7 • • MY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS " CERTIFICATION OF FUNDS (City Charter Article IV Section 21) I certify to the City Council that $ April 19, 1974 18,000 , the amount required for the contract, agreement, obligation or expenditures contemplated in the above and foregoing ordinance is in the Treasury of the City of Corpus Christi to the credit of: Fund No. and Name 291 Park Bond Project No. 291 -70 -9. FIN 2 -55 Revised 7/31/69 Corpus Christi, Texas 47 �ay of , 19 -_Z TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL Corpus Christi, Texas For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspen- sion of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordi- nance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
