HomeMy WebLinkAbout12050 ORD - 05/15/1974� f o' JRR:jkh:hb:5 /14/74:1st• AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 11476, PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON THE 16TH DAY OF MAY, 1973, BY AMENDING SECTION 3 OF SAID ORDINANCE SO AS TO CORRECT AND ADJUST THE ASSESSMENTS LEVIED AGAINST ABUTTING PROPERTY OWNERS OF THE FOLLOWING STREET: Prescott Street, From The North Right - Of -Way Line Of Gollihar Road To The South Property Line Of Lot 5, Block 14, ° Temple Addition, AS HEREINAFTER PROVIDED; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 11476, passed and approved by the City Council on May 16, 1973, closing the hearing on street Improve- ments for Prescott Street, within the limits defined therein, situated in the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, be amended by correcting and adjusting the assessments levied against abutting property on the following street. Prescott Street, from the north right- of-way line of Gollihar Road to the south property line of Lot 5, Block 14, Temple Addition, as more fully described in the corrected and adjusted assessment roll, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, marked Exhibit "A ". SECTION 2. The necessity to immediately amend the assessment roll as herein set forth creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED this the _' day of May, 1974. 1974: MAYOR THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, 12050 r FINAL Corrected Assessment Roll PRESCOTT STREET IMPROVF140TS FROM THE NORTH RIGHT OF WAY LINE OF GOLLIHAR ROAD TO THE INTERSECTION OF THE CROSST01M EXPRESSWAY April 18, 1974 This street shs11 be constructed by excavation to a width and depth to permit the laying of a standard ca=b and gutter section, 5" lime stabilized subgrade, 8" compacted cali.che base and 22" Type "B" hot -mix, and 12" Type "D" hot -mix surface, for a pavement width of 45' measured from the back to back of curb except at the intersection of Horne Road where a pavement width increases to 56' to permit an additional turn lane. The project also includes the construction of reinforced concrete sidewalk 4" thick varying in width from 4' to 5' and standard driveways where required or by owners request. The assessment rates have been calculated based on the unit bid prices submitted by the low .bidder Burtex Constructors, and in accordance with the paving assessment policy of the City. Based on these calculations the assessment rates are as follows: Curb, Gutter & Pavement $10.85 per l.f. Pavement Only 7.90 per l.f. Sidewalk .65 per s.f. Driveway 1.24 per s.f.
