LEIGHTON FOR THE ACQUISITION OF PARCEL NO. 326, CORPUS CHRISTI BEACH PARK SITES PROJECT; APPROPRIATING $6,896.50 OUT OF NO. 124 GENERAL REVENUE SHARING FUND, OF WHICH AMOUNT $6,750 IS FOR PURCHASE AT THE APPROVED VALUE AND $146.50 IS FOR INCIDENTAL COSTS RELATED TO THE CLOSING OF THE PURCHASE OF THE AFORESAID PARCEL; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. v BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized, for and on behalf of the City of Corpus Christi, to execute a Real Estate Sales Contract for the acquisition of a parcel of land, No. 326, from the owner, Mrs. E. H. Leighton, for Corpus Christi Beach Park Sites Project, said parcel of land being described as follows: Lot Seven (7) and South Forty feet of Lot Nine (S. 40' of Lot (9)), Block Four Hundred Eleven (411), Brooklyn Addition to the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, according to the map or plat thereof, recorded in Volume "A ", Page 32, Map Records, Nueces County, Texas. SECTION 2. There is hereby appropriated out of No. 124 General Revenue Sharing Fund the sum of $6,896.500 of which amount $6,750 is for purchase at the approved value and $146.50 is for incidental costs related to the closing of the purchase of the aforesaid parcel. SECTION 3. The necessity to authorize the execution of the necessary documents and to authorize payment of funds for the acquisition of the aforesaid parcel of land as soon as possible creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED this the day of May, 1974.
