HomeMy WebLinkAbout12053 ORD - 05/15/1974JRR:jkh:bb:5 /14/74:lst AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH THE YWCA FOR AN INTER- VENTION CENTER SERVICE NOT TO EXCEED $9,000, ALL IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE ATTACHED CONTRACT MARRED EXHIBIT "A" AND MADE A PART HEREOF, THE SAME AS IF WRITTEN HEREIN; APPROPRIATING $9,000 FROM THE NO. 121 GENERAL REVENUE SHARING FUND; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager is authorized and directed to execute, for and on behalf of the City of Corpus Christi, a contract with the YWCA for an Intervention Center Service not to exceed $9,000, all in accordance with the attached contract marked Exhibit "A" and made a part hereof, the same as if written herein. SECTION 2. There is hereby appropriated the sum of $9,000 from the No. 121 General Revenue Sharing Fund. SECTION 3. The necessity to enter into the aforementioned contract at the earliest possible date creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the /.5_ day of May, 1974. ATTEST—) City Secret APPROVED: DAY OF MAY, 1974: �ti2L,Q Of City Attorney ca-� �1 MAY THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS 120,53 JRR:jkh:hb:5 /14/74 • STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF NUECES X W I T N E S S E T H: For and in consideration of the payments, service and covenants herein, do the City of Corpus Christi, a municipal corporation and body politic, operating under the home rule statutes of the State of Texas, hereinafter called "City ", and the Corpus Christi YWCA, covenant, agree and contract as follows: I. The YWCA will provide an Intervention Center Service and tem- porary residence service for young ladies having had some contact with a law enforcement agency. Upon the furnishing of such service, the YWCA agrees that the total amount paid by the City over the term of this contract shall not exceed Nine Thousand Dollars ($9,000). II. The City agrees to pay YWCA a reasonable amount for the provision Of such service upon receipt and approval of an invoice shooing the service rendered. YWCA agrees to keep adequate records to substantiate such service and to make such records available for inspection by the City during normal office hours. The reimbursement provided hereunder shall not exceed Nine Thousand Dollars ($9,000). III. The term of this contract shall be from execution hereof to and until July 31, 1974. However, in the event YWCA obtains other funding for such services, the City will have no further liability hereunder and this contract is terminated upon receipt of such other funding.
