AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF A DRAINAGE EASEMENT FROM
ELBERT D. ROBERTS AND WIFE, LYDIA ROBERTS, FOR
VIOLET ROAD - LEOPARD STREET TO I.H. 37 IMPROVEMENTS,
DESIGNATED AS PROJECT N0, 220 -70 -116; APPROPRIATING
OUT OF THE NO. 220 STREET BOND FUND $500 FOR ACQUISI-
TION OF THE AFORESAID DRAINAGE EASEMENT; AND DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,

SECTION 1. Authorization is hereby given for acceptance by the City
of Corpus Christi of a drainage easement from Elbert D. Roberts and wife,
Lydia Roberts, for Violet Road - Leopard Street to I.H. 37 Improvements, being
more particularly described hereinafter, in connection with Project No.
220 -70 -116:
Commencing at a point which is on the northwest boundary
line of Violet Road and which is also the most southerly
corner of the tract conveyed unto Elbert D. Roberts and
wife, Lydia Roberts, as described in Volume 1474, page
180 of the Nueces County Deed Records;
Thence N. 44° 46' E.,along the northwest boundary of
Violet Road a distance of 35.85 feet, more or less, to
a point which is the beginning of the drainage easement
herein described;
Thence N. 20 11' W.,a distance of 13.50 feet, more or
less, to a point;
Thence S. 290 49' W., a distance of 8.50 feet, more or
less, to a point;
Thence N. 600 11' W., a distance of 10.00 feet, more or
less, to a point;
Thence N. 29° 49' E., a distance of 24.50 feet, more or
less, to a point;
Thence N. 20 11' W., a distance of 98.00 feet, more or
less, to a point;
Thence N. 87° 49' E., a distance of 20.00 feet, more or
less, to a point;
Thence S. 2° 11' E., a distance of 111.69 feet, more or
less, to a point;
Thence S. 441 46' W., a distance of 27.37 feet, more or
less, to the place of beginning.
SECTION 2. There is hereby appropriated out of the No. 220 Street
Bond Fund the sum of $500 for acquisition of the above described drainage
easement from the owners.

SECTION 3. The necessity to appropriate the sums hereinabove
described and to authorize acceptance of the described drainage easement
in connection with the Violet Road Improvements creates a public emergency
and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter
rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of
its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three
several meetings of the City Council and the Mayor having declared that such
public emergency and necessity exist, and having requested that such Charter
rule be suspended and that this ordinance take effect and be in full force
and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this
the ay of May, 1974.

for the contract, agreement, obligation or expenditures contemplated in the
above and foregoing ordinance is in the Treasury of the City of Corpus Christi

from which it is proposed to be drawn, and such money is not appropriated for
any other purpose.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing
ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspen-
sion of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall
be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or
resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore,
request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordi-
nance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the
City Council.
