HomeMy WebLinkAbout12084 RES - 05/22/19740 JRR:MLM:jkh:5- 21 -74; 2pd f • A RESOLUTION WHEREAS, a Bayfront Utilization Study has been commissioned by the City of Corpus Christi and the Area Development Committee of the Chamber of Commerce; and WHEREAS, such a study has now been completed by Sasaki, Walker Associates, Inc.; and WHEREAS, said Sasaki, Walker study has been recommended by the Area Development Committee as a general guide for future development of the Corpus Christi Bayfront from Corpus Christi Beach to the Naval Air Station; and WHEREAS, the Sasaki, Walker study is a conceptual plan for bayfront development and further addresses itself to the needed open space to preserve the natural beauty of the Corpus Christi Bayfront; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi that the study completed by Sasaki, Walker Associates relating to the Corpus Christi Bayfront serve as a general guide for future bayfront development of the Corpus Christi Bayfront from Corpus Christi Beach to the Naval Air Station: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. The Bayfront Study conducted by Sasaki, Walker Associates, Inc. is hereby accepted as recommended by the Area Development Committee. SECTION 2. The City of Corpus Christi hereby expresses its resolve that said Bayfront Study be used as a general guide for future development of the Corpus Christi Bayfront from Corpus Christi Beach to the Naval Air Station. This Resolution passed pursuant to the provisions of Article II, Section 16D of the Charter of the COty of Corpus Christi, due to the necessity of its immediate communication, on this the -V day of May, 1974. 12084 TWI'sa_sem, C OF CORPUS CH STI, TEXAS Corpus Christi, Texas .;,2 `day of 19, TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL Corpus Christi, Texas For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspen- sion of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordi- nance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
