HomeMy WebLinkAbout12096 ORD - 05/29/1974• JRR:jkh:bb:5 /28/74:lst, AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 12036, PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON MAY 8, 1974, WHICH ORDINANCE CAPTION READS AS FOLLOWS: "BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF $100,000 CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, CONVENTION FACILITY BONDS, SERIES 1974, BEARING INTEREST AT THE RATES HEREINAFTER SET FORTH, AND PROVIDING FOR THE LEVY, ASSESSMENT AND COLLECTION OF A TAR SUFFICIENT TO PAY THE INTEREST ON SAID BONDS AND TO CREATE A SINKING FUND FOR THE REDEMPTION THEREOF AT MATURITY; REPEALING ALL OR- DINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY" AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 12036, passed and approved by the City Council on May 8, 1974, which ordinance caption reads as follows: "By the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, providing for the issuance of $100,000 City of Corpus Christi, Texas, Convention Facility Bonds, series 1974, bearing interest at the rates hereinafter set forth, and providing for the levy, assessment and collection of a tax sufficient to pay the interest on said bonds and to create a sinking fund for the redemption thereof at maturity; repealing all ordinances in conflict herewith and declaring an emergency ", be and the same is hereby repealed in its entirety. SECTION 2. The necessity to immediately repeal the aforesaid ordinance creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolu- tion shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance take effect and be in full force and effect from and after At its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED this the day of May, 1974.
