AN ORDINANCE
APPROPRIATING AND REAPPROPRIATING OUT OF THE NO. 124
GENERAL REVENUE SHARING FUND $181,010 FOR THE ACQUISI-
TION OF PARCELS 1, 2, 3 AND 4 OF THE BAYFRONT SCIENCE
PARK LAND ACQUISITION PROJECT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated and reappropriated out of
the No. 124 General Revenue Sharing Fund $181,010 for the acquisition of
Parcels 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the Bayfront Science Park Land Acquisition Project,
said sums being for Awards of Special Commissioners, Commissioners' fees,
appraiser's fees, and court costs, Parcel 1 having been acquired from John
Ray, et al, in Condemnation Cause No. 693, styled City of Corpus Christi v.
John H. Ray, et al, and Parcels 2, 3 and 4 having been acquired from William
S. Whittet, et al, in Condemnation Cause No. 695, styled City of Corpus Christi
v. William S. Whittet, et al.
SECTION 2. The necessity to appropriate and reappropriate the
hereinabove described sums in order that the City may take possession of the
parcels described creates a public emergency and an imperative public neces-
sity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or
resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that
such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the
City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such emergency and necessity
exist,, and having requested that such Charter rule be suspended and that this
ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect
and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY
50 ORDAINED, this thday of July, 1974.

for the contract, agreement, obligation or expenditures contemplated in the
above and foregoing ordinance is in the Treasury of the City of Corpus Christi
to the credit of:

Project Name Fourth Entitlement Period General Revenue Sharing
Fund - Reserve Account
from which it is proposed to be drawn, and such money is not appropriated for
any other purpose.
These funds will be transferred to
Activity 4181, Code 501 for the
acquisition of Parcels 1, 2, 3, & 4
of Block 90 in Bayfront Science
Park Project.

TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing
ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspen-
sion of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall
be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or
resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore,
request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordi-
nance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the
City Council.
