AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING THE CITY BUDGET; AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION
OF CHANGE ORDER NO. 3 FOR $2,114 TO THE CONTRACT WITH
J. H. CHAPMAN CONSTRUCTION COMPANY FOR CORPUS CHRISTI
MUSEUM INTERIOR FINISHING BUILDING NO. 2, SAID CHANGE
ORDER TO PROVIDE FOR A BACXFLOW PREVENTION SYSTEM ON
THE HUMIDIFIER CHEMICAL INJECTION SYSTEM; APPROPRIATING
$1,122.36 OUT OF NO. 291 PARR BOND FUND WHICH
AMOUNT WILL BE TRANSFERRED FROM THE NO. 102 GENERAL_
FUND TO SUPPLEMENT $991.64 REMAINING FROM CONTINGENCY
FUNDS APPROPRIATED BY ORDINANCE NO. 11737 DATED
OCTOBER 10, 1973; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the execution of Change Order No. 3 for
$2,114 to the contract with J. H. Chapman Construction Company for Corpus
Christi Museum Interior Finishing Building No. 2, which change order is
to provide for a backflow prevention system on the humidifier chemical
injection system is hereby authorized.
SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated $1,222.36 out of
No. 291 Park Bond Fund which amount will be transferred from No. 102
General Fund to supplement $991.64 remaining from contingency funds
appropriated by Ordinance No. 11737 dated October 10, 1973.
SECTION 3. Amendment of the City Budget to accomplish the
purposes of this ordinance is necessitated for emergency expenditure in
grave public necessity to meet unusual and unforseen conditions, which
could not, by reasonable diligent thought and attention of the Government
of the City of Corpus Christi, have been included in the current, original
Budget of the City.
SECTION 4. The necessity to authorize the execution of the
above referred Change Order at the earliest possible date so that work
on this system can commence creates a public emergency and an imperative
public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no
ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its
introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three
several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such
emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of

the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date
of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from
and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the "O—

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing
ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspen-
sion of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall
be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or
resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore,
request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordi-
nance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the
City Council.
