HomeMy WebLinkAbout12241 ORD - 08/28/1974•JRR:vMR:8- 28 -74 1ST • TEXAS: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE BUDGET; APPROPRIATING $6,716.16 OUT OF NO. 2145 AIRPORT BOND FUND TO SUPPLEMENT FUNDS PRE- VIOUSLY APPROPRIATED BY ORDINANCE NO. 11982 AND ORDINANCE NO. 12217 FOR THE CONTRACT WITH HELDENFELS BROTHERS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF REPAIRS TO RUNWAYS AND TAXIWAYS AT CORPUS CHRISTI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, PRO- JECT NO. 2445 -68 -11.1, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, SECTION 1. THERE IS HEREBY APPROPRIATED $6,716.16 OUT OF THE N0. 2145 AIRPORT BOND FUND TO SUPPLEMENT FUNDS PREVIOUSLY APPROPRIATED BY ORDINANCE N0. 11982 AND ORDINANCE N0. 12217 FOR THE CONTRACT WITH HELDENFELS BROTHERS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF REPAIRS TO RUNWAYS AND TAXIWAYS AT THE CORPUS CHRISTI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, PROJECT N0. 2145 -68 -11.1. SECTION 2. AMENDMENT OF THE CITY BUDGET TO ACCOMPLISH THE PURPOSES OF THIS ORDINANCE IS NECESSITATED FOR EMERGENCY EXPENDITURE IN GRAVE PUBLIC NECESSITY TO MEET UNUSUAL AND UNFORESEEN CONDITIONS, WHICH COULD NOT, BY REASONABLE DILIGENT THOUGHT AND ATTENTION OF THE GOVERNMENT OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, HAVE BEEN INCLUDED IN THE CURRENT, ORIGINAL BUDGET OF THE CITY. SECTION 3. THE NECESSITY TO IMMEDIATELY APPROPRIATE THE HEREIN- ABOVE DESCRIBED SUMS FOR THE PURPOSES OUTLINED IN ORDER THAT THE PROJECT MAY CONTINUE WITHOUT DELAY CREATES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRO- DUCTION BUT THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR HAVING DECLARED SUCH EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY TO EXIST, AND HAVING REQUESTED THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT FROM AND AFTER ITS PASSAGE, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, THIS THE Al zz- OF AUGUST, 19714.
