AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING THE CITY BUDGET FOR THE NO. 121 FIRST
ENTLTLEKEN T PERIOD GENERAL REVENUE SHARING FUND
BY REDUCING THE APPROPRIATION FOR THE CHIQUITA
PARK (PINE AND PUEBLO PARK) LAND ACQUISITION,
ACCOUNT 5602, CODE 501, FROM $10,000 TO $7,902 AND
INCREASING APPROPRIATIONS FOR PARKDALE LIBRARY AIR
CONDITIONING MODIFICATIONS, ACCOUNT 3912, CODE
345, FROM $17,000 TO $19,098; APPROPRIATING AND
REAPPROPRIATING $2,098 TO SUPPLEMENT EXISTING
APPROPRIATIONS FOR THE CONTRACT WITH MALEK, INC.
FOR MODIFICATIONS TO THE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM
AT PARKDALE LIBRARY, APPLICABLE TO ACCOUNT 3912,
CODE 345; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Budget for the No. 121 First
Entitlement Period General Revenue Sharing Fund be and the same is hereby
amended by reducing the appropriation for the Chiquita Park (Pine and
Pueblo Park) Land Acquisition, Account 5602, Code 501, from $10,000
to $7,902, and increasing appropriations for Parkdale Library Air Con-
ditioning Modifications, Account 3912, Code 345, from $17,000 to $19,098.
SECTION 2. There is hereby appropriated and reappropriated
$2,098 to supplement existing appropriations for the contract with Malek,
Inc., for Modifications to the Air Conditioning System at Parkdale
Library, applicable to Account 3912, Code 345.
SECTION 3. Amendment of the City Budget to accomplish the
purposes of this ordinance is necessitated for emergency expenditure in
grave public necessity to meet unusual and unforseen conditions, which .
could not, by reasonable diligent thought and attention of the Government
of the City of Corpus Christi, have been included in the current, original
Budget of the City.
SECTION 4. The necessity to immediately amend the City
Budget as hereinabove set forth in order that the projects outlined may
be continued without delay creates a public emergency and an imperative
public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no
ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its intro-
duction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three

several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such
emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of
the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of
its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from
and after its passage, IT IS.ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the day

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing
ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspen-
sion of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall
be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or
resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore,
request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordi-
nance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the
City Council.
