AN ORDINANCE
APPROPRIATING $285 OUT OF THE NO. 250 SANITARY SEWER
BOND FUND FOR ACQUISITION OF PARCEL NO. 1, JACKSON
TERRACE SANITARY SEWER PROJECT, NO. 250 -70 -80.6,
FROM THE OWNER, J. F. LEWIS, ET AL, AND FOR COURT
COSTS, BEING A MATTER IN CONDEMNATION; AND DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated out of the No. 250 Sanitary
Sewer Bond Fund the sum of $285 for acquisition of Parcel No. 1, Jackson
Terrace Sanitary Sewer Project, No. 250 -70 -80.6, from the owner, J. F. Lewis,
et al, and for court costs, including Special Commissioners' fees, being a
matter in condemnation, styled City of Corpus Christi v. J. F. Lewis, et al,
Cause No. 698, in County Court at Law No. 2 of Nueces County, Texas.
SECTION 2. The necessity to appropriate the sums hereinabove in
order that the City may take possession of the tract of land needed in
connection with the Jackson Terrace Sanitary Sewer Project at the earliest
practicable date creates a public emergency and an.imperative public
necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or
resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that
said ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the
City Council, and the Mayor, having declared that such emergency and neces-
sity exist, having requested the suspension of the said Charter rule and
that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take
effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS
ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the 0;�day of October, 1974.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing
ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspen-
sion of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall
be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or
resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore,
request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordi-
nance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the
City Council.
