AN ORDINANCE
AUTRORIZING.TRE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A REAL
ESTATE SALES CONTRACT WITH THOMAS J. GREENE, JR.
ET AL, FOR ACQUISITION OF PARCELS NO. 302, 306,
309 AND 310, CORPUS CHRISTI BEACH PARR SITES,
PROJECT NO. 291- 72 -12; APPROPRIATING OUT OF THE
291 PARR BOND FUND $171,945.92, OF WHICH AMOUNT
$171,223 IS FOR PURCHASE AT THE APPROVED VALUE
AND $722.92 IS FOR INCIDENTAL COSTS RELATED TO
THE CLOSING OF THE PURCHASE OF THE AFORESAID
PARCELS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized
to execute a Real Estate Sales Contract with Thomas J. Greene, Jr., et
al, for acquisition of Parcels No. 302, 306, 309 and 310, Corpus Christi
Beach Parksites, Project No. 291- 72 -12, said parcels or tracts being more
particularly described as follows:
Parcels 306, 309, 310 TRACT I
Lots One (1) through Twelve (12), both inclusive,
Block Three - hundred Eighty -Seven (387), BROOKLYN
ADDITION to the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, as
shown by the map thereof, recorded in Volume A,
Page 32, Map Records, Nueces County, Texas; together
with the 20 -foot alley lying between said lots,
through the center of said Block, same having been
closed by ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi
dated November 27, 1964, being Ordinance No. 7419.
TRACT II
Lot Thirteen (13), Block Three- hundred Eighty -
Seven (387), BROOKLYN, a subdivision of a tract
North of and adjacent to Block 387, Brooklyn,
formerly the South part of the Sutherland Tract
out of the Petzel Tract in the City of Corpus
Christi, Nueces County, Texas, as shown by the map
or plat thereof, recorded in Volume 30, Page 90,
Map Records, Nueces County, Texas.
Parcel 302 TRACT III
Lots One (1), Three (3), Five (5), and Seven (7),
Block Three- hundred Eighty -Five (385), BROOKLYN
ADDITION to the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces
County, Texas, as shown by the map or plat there-
of, recorded in Volume "A", Page 32, Map Records,
Nueces County, Texas.
SECTION 2. There is hereby appropriated out of the No. 291
Park Bond Fund $171,945.92, of which amount $171,223 is for purchase at

the approved value and $722.92 is for incidental costs related to the
closing of the purchase of the aforesaid parcels.
SECTION 3.' The necessity to authorize execution of the afore-
said Real Estate Sales Contract and to appropriate the sums necessary
to acquire the parcels hereinabove described in order that the Corpus
Christi Beach Parksites Project may continue without delay creates a
public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the sus-
pension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be
passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance or
resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council,
and the Mayor, having declared such emergency and necessity to exist,
having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance
take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage,

for the contract, agreement, obligation or expenditures contemplated in the
above and foregoing ordinance is in the Treasury of the City of Corpus Christi
to the credit of:

Project Name Corpus Christi Beach Park Sites
from which it is proposed to be drawn, and such money is not appropriated for
any other purpose.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing
ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspen-
sion of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall
be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or
resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore,
request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordi-
nance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the
City Council.
