HomeMy WebLinkAbout12331 ORD - 10/23/1974• JRR:vp:10 /22/74:lst AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE REAL ESTATE SALES CONTRACT AND SUCH OTHER DOCUMENTS AS MAY BE NECESSARY FOR THE ACQUISITION OF A PARCEL OF LAND LOCATED AT THE CORNER OF COKE AND BUFFALO STREETS ADJACENT TO T. C. AYERS POOL FROM THE OWNERS, JOSE MARTINEZ AND WIFE, GLORIA MARTINEZ; APPROPRIATING AND REAPPROPRIATING OUT OF THE 123 GENERAL REVENUE SHARING FUND, ACTIVITY 4134, CODE 501, $16,195.50, OF WHICH AMOUNT $16,000 IS FOR ACQUISITION AND $195.50 IS FOR COSTS RELATED TO CLOSING; AND DECLAR- ING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized • to execute Real Estate Sales Contract and such other documents as may be necessary to acquire a parcel of land from Jose Martinez and wife, Gloria Martinez, said parcel being more particularly described as follows, and being located at the corner of Coke and Buffalo Streets, adjacent to the T. C. Ayers Pool: Situated in the County of Nueces, State of Texas, and being Lot 1, Block 2, Craven Heights, an addition to the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, as shown by map or plat thereof of record in the Map Records of Nueces County, Texas. SECTION 2. There is hereby appropriated and reappropriated out of the No. 123 General Revenue Sharing Fund, Activity 4134, Code 501, the sum of $16,195.50, of which amount $16,000 is for acquisition and $195.50 is for costa related to closing. SECTION 3. The necessity to appropriate the sums hereinabove and to authorize acquisition of the parcel described creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after JL233i 0 0 its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the % Q day of October, 1974.
