AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING THE BUDGET; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
E7CECUTE REAL ESTATE SALES CONTRACT AND OTHER DOCUMENTS
NECESSARY FOR THE ACQUISITION OF PARCEL NO. 313 FROM
THE OWNER, BERNARD P. NEWMAN, FOR CORPUS CHRISTI BEACH
PARK SITES, PROJECT NO. 291- 72 -12; APPROPRIATING $2,125
OUT OF THE NO. 291 PARK BOND FUND TO SUPPLEMENT FUNDS
PREVIOUSLY APPROPRIATED BY ORDINANCE NO. 11781, PASSED
AND APPROVED ON NOVEMBER 14, 1973, FOR ACQUISITION OF
PARCEL NO. 313 FOR A TOTAL COMPENSATION OF $10,173.50,
OF WHICH AMOUNT $10,000 IS FOR ACQUISITION AND $173.50
FOR COSTS RELATED TO CLOSING, ALL SUPPLMOMU FUNDS
APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 291- 72 -12; AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,

SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to
execute reel estate sales contract and such other documents as may be necessiay
for the acquisition of Parcel No. 313 from the owner, Bernard P. Newman, for
the Corpus Christi Beach Park Sites Project, No. 291- 72 -12, said parcel being
more particularly described as follows:
Lot Three (3), Block Three hundred eighty -eight (388),
Brooklyn Addition to the City of Corpus Christi, Texas,
according to the Map or Plat thereof, recorded in
Volume A, Page 32, Map Records, Nueces County, Texas.
SECTION 2. There is hereby appropriated $2,125 out of the No. 291
Park Bond Fund to supplement funds previously appropriated by Ordinance No.
11781, passed and approved on November 14, 1973, for acquisition of Parcel
No. 313 for a total compensation of $10,173.50, of which amount $10,000 is
for acquisition and $173.50 for costs related to closing, all supplemental
funds applicable to Project No. 291- 72 -12.
SECTION 3. Amendment of the City Budget to accomplish the purpose
of this ordinance is necessitated for emergency expenditure in grave public
necessity to meet unusual and unforeseen conditions, which could not, by
reasonable diligent thought and attention of the government of the City of
Corpus Christi, have been included in the current, original budget of the
City.
SECTION 4. The necessity to appropriate the sums hereinabove
set forth and to authorize the City Manager to execute the documents neces-
sary to acquire the parcel described hereinabove for the Corpus Christi Beach
Perk Sites Project in order that the project may continue without delay

creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the
suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be
passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or
resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and
the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having
requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed
finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force
and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing
ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspen-
sion of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall
be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or
resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore,
request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordi-
nance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the
City Council.
