HomeMy WebLinkAbout12360 ORD - 11/20/1974EG:bb:10 /31/74:1at' AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 33, PART II, CORPUS CHRISTI CITY CODE, 1958, AS AMENDED, AND AS PARTICULARLY AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 10730, AND ORDINANCE N0. 11979, SO AS TO ADD A NEW SECTION 33A -10 TO PROVIDE FOR THE AUCTIONING OF MOTOR VEHICLES WOUNDED UNDER THE AUTHORITY OF ANY CITY ORDINANCE IN THE SAME MANNER AS MOTOR VEHICLES ARE AUCTIONED UNDER TEAS ABAN- DONED MOTOR VEHICLE ACT; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION; PROVIDING SEVERABILITY. • BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, SECTION 1. That Chapter 33, Corpus Christi City Code, 1958, as amended, and as particularly amended by Ordinance No. 10730, passed and approved by the City Council on the 8th day of March, 1972, and as amended by Ordinance No. 11979, passed and approved by the City Council . on the 3rd day of April, 1974, be and the same hereby is amended so as to add a new Section 33A -10, Sale of Abandoned Motor Vehicles, such new section to read as follows: "SECTION 33A -10. Sale of Abandoned Motor Vehicles. Notwithstanding any other provision, any motor vehicle impounded pursuant to any City ordinance or State Law, shall be processed, disposed, auctioned, and sold in accordance with the provisions of the Texas Abandoned Motor Vehicle Act." SECTION 2. Publication shall be made one time in the official publication of the City of Corpus Christi, by publishing the caption of this ordinance, stating in substance the purpose of the ordinance. SECTION 3. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdi- vision, clause, phrase, word, or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction it shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word, or provision' -of this ordinance, for it is the definite intent of this City Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word, or provision hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose. .1 0 0 That the foregoing ordinance was read fo he first time _p4 passed to its second reading on this the day of 19 by the following vote: Jason Luby James T.
