HomeMy WebLinkAbout12374 ORD - 11/27/1974 (2)• JRR:vMR:11- 26- 74;1ST • AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CITY BUDGET: APPROPRIATING A TOTAL OF $5,994, OF WHICH $960 IS OUT OF THE NO. 291 PARK BOND FUND, APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 291 -72 -1, MC GEE BEACH IMPROVEMENTS, FOR LABORATORY SERVICES TO BE PROVIDED BY STAPP - HAMILTON & ASSOCIATES, INC.; AND $5,034 IS OUT OF THE NO. 220 STREET BOND FUND, OF WHICH $2,529 IS APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 220 -72 -6, NORTH STAPLES STREET, LEOPARD TO WEST BROADWAY, AND $2,505 IS APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 220- 72 -10, STARLITE LANE, LEOPARD TO SUNNY DRIVE, BOTH FOR THE LABORATORY SERVICES OF TRINITY ENGINEERING TESTING CORPORATION REQUIRED FOR THE DESIGN OF STREET IMPROVEMENTS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS. SECTION 1. THERE IS HEREBY APPROPRIATED THE SUM OF $5,994, OF WHICH $960 IS OUT OF THE NO. 291 PARK BOND FUND, APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 291 -72 -1, MC GEE BEACH IMPROVEMENTS, FOR LABORATORY SERVICES TO BE PROVIDED BY STAPP- HAMILTON & ASSOCIATES, INC.; AND $5,034 IS OUT OF THE NO. 220 STREET BOND FUND, OF WHICH $2,529 IS APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 220-72 -6, NORTH STAPLES STREET, LEOPARD TO WEST BROADWAY, AND $2,505 IS APPLICABLE TO PROJECT N0. 220- 72 -10, STARLITE LANE, LEOPARD TO SUNNY DRIVE, BOTH FOR THE LABORATORY SERVICES OF TRINITY ENGINEERING TESTING CORPORATION REQUIRED FOR THE DESIGN OF STREET IMPROVEMENTS. SECTION 2. AMENDMENT OF THE CITY BUDGET TO ACCOMPLISH THE PURPOSES OF THIS ORDINANCE IS NECESSITATED FOR EMERGENCY EXPENDITURE IN GRAVE PUBLIC NECESSITY TO MEET UNUSUAL AND UNFORESEEN CONDITIONS, WHICH COULD NOT, BY REASONABLE DILIGENT THOUGHT AND ATTENTION OF THE GOVERNMENT OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, HAVE BEEN INCLUDED IN THE CURRENT, ORIGINAL BUDGET OF THE CITY. SECTION 3. THE NECESSITY TO APPROPRIATE THE SUMS HEREINABOVE DESCRIBED IN ORDER THAT THE SAID PROJECTS MAY BE COMPLETED AT THE EARLIEST PRACTICABLE DATE CREATES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION BUT THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE 12374 CITY COUNCILS AND THE MAYOR HAVING DECLARED SUCH EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY TO EXIST, AND HAVING REQUESTED THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT FROM AND AFTER ITS PASSAGES IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, THIS THE DAY OF NOVEMBERS 1974.
