HomeMy WebLinkAbout12409 ORD - 12/26/1974JRR:oc:12 /24/74 • 1st AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CITY BUDGET; APPROPRIATING OUT OF THE NO. 220 STREET BOND FUND THE SUM OF $8,060 FOR LABORATORY SERVICES NECESSARY FOR THE DESIGN OF THREE STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS; OF SAID APPROPRIATION $5,060 IS FOR THE SERVICES OF TRINITY TESTING LABORATORIES, INC., $2,530 BEING APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 220 -67- 92.11, TARLTON- CHEYENNE STREETS, AND $2,530 BEING APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 220- 72 -1.3, AND $3,000 IS FOR THE SERVICES OF TRINITY ENGINEERING TESTING CORPORATION, APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 220- 72 -1.1, MOLINA AREA UNIT II; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated out of the No. 220 Street Bond Fund the sum of $8,060 for laboratory services necessary for the design of three improvement projects; of said appropriation $5,060 is for the services of Trinity Testing Laboratories, Inc., $2,530 being applicable to Project No. 220 -67- 92.11, Tarlton- Cheyenne Streets, and $2,530 being applicable to Project No. 220- 72 -1.3, and $3,000 is for the services of Trinity Engineering Testing Corporation, applicable to Project No. 220- 72 -1.1, Molina Area Unit II. SECTION 2. Amendment of the City Budget to accomplish the purposes of this ordinance is necessitated for emergency expenditure in grave public necessity to meet unusual and unforeseen conditions, which could not, by reasonable diligent thought and attention of the Government of the City of Corpus Christi, have been included in the current, original Budget of the City. SECTION 3. The necessity to provide the necessary sums in order that the above described street improvement projects may continue without delay creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having 12409 • JRR:0c ;12/24/74 • 1st requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the � day of December, 1974. Director of F` ce FIN 2 -55 Revised 7/31/69 L14 i • Corpus Christi, Texas A day of 19 _ZX TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL Corpus Christi, Texas For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspen- sion of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordi- nance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
