HomeMy WebLinkAbout12421 RES - 01/08/1975MT.M:e:hb:1/6/75 A RESOLUTION WHEREAS, proceedings before the Texas Railroad Commission relating to the allocation and supply of natural gas supplied by -Lo Vaca Gathering Company have been continuing since 1972, and WHEREAS, voluminous testimony has been introduced in evidence over a lengthy period, and ++ WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi desires a speedy resolution of the issues now pending before the Railroad Commission, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Corpus Christi hereby urges the Governor of the State of Texas to urge the Railroad Commission to proceed as expeditiously as possible to reach a decision on the matters pending before it, and particularly the matters pertaining to the cost and allocation of the supply of natural gas furnished by Lo -Vaca Gathering Company. SECTION 2. The City Secretary of the City of Corpus Christi is hereby instructed to furnish a certified copy of this resolution to the Governor of the State of Texas, the Honorable Dolph Briscoe. SECTION 3. The City Secretary of the City of Corpus Christi is hereby instructed to furnish a certified copy of this resolution to each member of the Texas Railroad Commission. SECTION 4. The fact that the City Council ,wishes to make known its desire that this issue now pending before the Railroad Commission be resolved at the earliest possible date creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date Of its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, having requested the I-2421 suspension of the Charter rule and that this resolution take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO RESOLVED this the 0 day of January, 1975.
