PROGRAM; REAPPROPRIATING SAID $1,022.01 TO ACTIVITY 3815, CODE 502, TO SUPPLEMENT AN EXISTING $900 TO PROVIDE A TOTAL OF $1,922.01 FOR THE CITY'S ADDITIONAL SHARE OF COST FOR THE PLACEMENT OF A SKID - RESISTANT ASPHALTIC OVERLAY ON OCEAN DRIVE AND SHORELINE BOULEVARD FROM BELDEN STREET TO NORTH GATE OF THE NAVAL AIR STATION, WHICH AMOUNT WILL BE PLACED IN ESCROW WITH THE STATE TREASURER ACCOUNT OF TRUST FUND NO. 927; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the appropriation of $1,022.01 of the remaining appropriation of $11,588.23 in the NO. 122 General Revenue Sharing Funds, Activity 3263, Code 437, for Interim Funding of the N.I.P. Program be and the same is hereby canceled. There is hereby reappropriated the said $1,022.01 to Activity 3815, Code 502, to supplement an existing $900 to provide a total of $1,922.01 for the City's additional share of cost for the placement of a skid - resistant asphaltic overlay on Ocean Drive and Shoreline Boulevard from Belden Street to the North Gate of the Naval Air Station, which amount will be placed in escrow with the State Treasurer Account of Trust Fund No. 927. SECTION 2. Amendment of the City Budget to accomplish the purposes of this ordinance is necessitated for emergency expenditure in grave public necessity to meet unusual and unfore- seen conditions, which could not, by reasonable diligent thought and attention of the Government of the City of Corpus Christi, have been included in the current, original Budget of the City. SECTION 3. The necessity to immediately provide adequate sums as the City's share for placement of a skid - resistant asphaltic overlay on Ocean Drive and Shoreline Boulevard within the limits hereinabove set forth creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the 12455 Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the day of January, 1975.
