HomeMy WebLinkAbout12456 ORD - 01/29/1975vp:1/28/75:lst �_I t 1 V1. 640 AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE DOCUMENTS NECESSARY FOR THE ACQUISITION OF PARCELS 72 THROUGH 83, BLOCKS 7 AND 84 THROUGH 95, BLOCK 6, ALL NAVAL CENTER SUBDIVISION, IN CONNECTION WITH THE NAVAL AIR STATION SAFETY ZONES - LAND ACQUISITION PROJECT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is - hereby authorized to execute documents necessary for the acquisition of Parcels 72 through 83, Blocks 7 and 84 through 95, Block 6, at approved value, all being out of the Naval Center Subdivision, in connection with the Navel Air Station Safety Zones - Land Acquisition Project, the parcels and ownership being listed as follows: Owner Parcels J. W. Elledge 72 and 73 Elmer A. Webb, Jr. 74 Mrs. H. H. Jones 75 N. W. Redwine 76 Benito Roma 77 Harry G. Heaney, M. D. 78 George J. Hawkins 79 Santiago S. Rodriguez 80 J. W. Hensley 81, 82, 84, 85, 86, 87, 88, and 89 Wesley H. Webb 83 Mary Edith Burke 90 and 91 William P. and Thomas R. Riddick 92, 93, 94 and 95 SECTION 2. The necessity to authorize the execution of the documents necessary to acquire the aforesaid parcels for the purposes aforesaid in order that the project may continue without delay creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such - 1.2456 emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed fina7.ly on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and IT- after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the Af day of January, 1975.
