AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 12082_, PASSED AND APPROVED
BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON MAY 22, 19714, PERTAINING, TO
THE FOLLOWING NAMED STREET:
HORNE ROAD UNIT II, MC ARTHUR TO NAPLES,
BY AMENDING SECTION 3 OF SAID ORDINANCE SO AS TO
CORRECT AND ADJUST THE ASSESSMENTS LEVIED AGAINST
THE ABUTTING PROPERTY OWNERS, ALL AS FULLY SET FORTH
HEREINAFTER; AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 12092, PASSED
AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON MAY 29,-1974,
PERTAINING TO THE FOLLOWING NAMED STREETS:
HORNE ROAD FROM NAPLES TO RAMSEY, AS ABUTS LOT 1,
BLOCK 12, ARCADIA VILLAGE AND LOT 3, MODERN HOME
ANNEX; AND
RAMSEY STREET FROM HORNE ROAD TO HOUSTON STREET, AS
ABUTS LOT 3,,MODERN HOME ANNEX,
BY AMENDING SECTION 3 OF SAID ORDINANCE SO AS TO

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
SECTION 1. THAT ORDINANCE No. 12082, PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL ON MAY 22, 19714, PERTAINING TO THE FOLLOWING NAMED STREET:
HORNE ROAD UNIT 11, MC ARTHUR TO NAPLES,
BE AMENDED BY AMENDING SECTION 3 OF SAID ORDINANCE SO AS TO CORRECT AND ADJUST
THE ASSESSMENTS LEVIED AGAINST THE ABUTTING PROPERTY OWNERS AS INDICATED ON
EXHIBIT "A ", A COPY OF WHICH IS ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF.
SECTION 2. THAT ORDINANCE NO. 12092, PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL ON MAY 29, 19714, PERTAINING TO THE FOLLOWING NAMED STREETS:
HORNE ROAD FROM NAPLES TO RAMSEY, AS ABUTS LOT 1, BLOCK 12,
ARCADIA VILLAGE AND LOT 3, MODERN HOME ANNEX; AND
RAMSEY STREET FROM HORNE ROAD TO HOUSTON STREET, AS ABUTS LOT 3,
MODERN HOME ANNEX,
BE AMENDED BY AMENDING SECTION 3 OF SAID ORDINANCE SO AS TO CORRECT AND ADJUST
THE ASSESSMENTS LEVIED AGAINST THE ABUTTING PROPERTY OWNERS AS INDICATED ON
EXHIBIT "B ", ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF.
SECTION 3. THE NECESSITY TO MAKE THE CORRECTIONS AND ADJUSTMENTS
HEREINABOVE SET FORTH AT THE EARLIEST PRACTICABLE DATE SO THAT THE PROJECTS

MAY BE FINALIZED CREATES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE PUBLIC
NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE
OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION BUT
THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS
OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR HAVING DECLARED SUCH EMERGENCY AND
NECESSITY TO EXIST, AND HAVING REQUESTED THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER
RULE AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT
FROM AND AFTER ITS PASSAGE, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, THIS THE��

HORME ROAD UNIT II, FROM MCARTHUR TO NAPLES
The Construction of this street will consist of the excavation to a width and
depth to permit the Construction of standard curb and gutter section, a com-
pacted 6" lime stablilized sub - grade, an 8" compacted caliche base, 2P' Type
"B" Hot Mix and a 12" Type "D" Hot Mix surface on the pavement width of 61'
back of curb to back of curb. The 41' pavement width shall have the above
subgrade, base and 2" Type "D" Hot Mix surface.
Sidewalks shall vary in width from 4' to 5' and shall be standard 4" in thick-
ness. Driveways are to be constructed as shown on the plans or where designa-
ted by the owners in compliance with good and safe construction practice.
The assessment rates have been determined in accordance with the City policy
and by using the low bid submitted by Asphalt Paving and Construction Company
and applying the rate to the front footage of abutting property. The assess-
ment rates as applied are as follows:

gutter and pavement is $4.75/L.F. or less according to the bid price.

This project is a continuation to the sidewalks on Horne Road Project
along Horne Road to Ramsey and along Ramsey to Houston Street, and is
to be constructed by change order to-the Horne Road Project.
The sidewalk is to be constructed 4' wide 4" thick standard reinforced.
The assessment rates have been determined in accordance with the City's
policy for using the low bid submitted by Asphalt Paving and Construction
Company on item #1, but item #2 is assessed 1007., as this property
did not construct sidewalk as a platting obligation.
The assessment rates are as follows:

sion of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall
be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or
resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore,
request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordi-
nance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the
City Council.
