AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A REAL ESTATE
CONTRACT WITH GULF OrL CORPORATION FOR THE ACQUISITION
OF PARCEL 204, CORPUS CHRISTI BEACH PARK SITES PROJECT;
APPROPRIATING AND REAPPROPRIATING OUT OF THE 121
GENERAL REVENUE SHARING FUND, ACTIVITY 5604, CODE 437,
$10,675.50, OF WHICH AMOUNT $10,500 IS FOR PURCHASE AT
THE APPROVED VALUE AND $175.50 IS FOR INCIDENTAL COSTS
RELATED TO THE CLOSING OF THE PURCHASE OF THE AFORE-
SAID PARCEL; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. THAT THE CITY MANAGER BE AND HE IS HEREBY AUTHORIZED TO
EXECUTE A REAL ESTATE SALES CONTRACT WITH GULF OIL CORPORATION FOR THE
ACQUISITION OF PARCEL 204, CORPUS CHRISTI BEACH PARK SITES PROJECT, SAID
PARCEL BEING MORE FULLY DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS:
LOTS 2, 41 AND 6, BLOCK 72, BROOKLYN ADDITION, IN THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, AS SHOWN BY MAP OR PLAT THEREOF RECORDED
IN VOLUME A, PAGE 31 OF THE MAP RECORDS OF NUECES COUNTY,
TEXAS.
SECTION 2. THERE IS HEREBY APPROPRIATED AND REAPPROPRIATED OUT OF
THE NO. 121 GENERAL REVENUE SHARING FUND, ACTIVITY 5604, CODE 437, THE SUM
OF $10,675.50, OF WHICH AMOUNT $10,500 IS FOR PURCHASE AT THE APPROVED VALUE
AND $175.50 IS FOR INCIDENTAL COSTS RELATED TO THE CLOSING OF THE PURCHASE OF
THE AFORESAID PARCEL.
SECTION 3. THE NECESSITY TO AUTHORIZE EXECUTION OF THE SAID REAL
ESTATE SALES CONTRACT AND TO APPROPRIATE THE NECESSARY SUMS IN ORDER THAT
THE CORPUS CHRISTI BEACH PARK SITES PROJECT MAY CONTINUE WITHOUT DELAY CREATES
A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF
THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE
DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION BUT THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ
AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR HAVING DECLARED
SUCH EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY TO EXIST, AND HAVING REQUESTED THE SUSPENSION OF

THE CHARTER RULE AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE TAKE EFFECT AND 8E IN FULL FORCE
AND EFFECT FROM AND AFTER ITS PASSAGE, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, THIS

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing
ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspen-
sion of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall
be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or
resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore,
request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordi-
nance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the
City Council.
