THAT THE CITY MANAGER BE AND HE IS HEREBY AUTHORIZED, FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, AS THE ADMINISTRATIVE UNIT FOR THE COASTAL BEND MANPOWER CONSORTIUM, TO SUBMIT GRANT MODIFICATION PROPOSALS TO THE DEPARTMENT OF LABOR FOR THE CETA TITLE I PROGRAM, REQUESTING AN INCREASE IN FUNDING LEVEL FROM THE CURRENT $2,658,534 TO A NEW LEVEL OF $3,407,974.88, BEING AN INCREASE OF $749,420.88; DECREASING THE FUNDING LEVEL OF THE CETA TITLE 111 1974 SUMMER PROGRAM BY $58,077.88; AND PROVIDING UTILIZA- TION OF UNEXPENDED FUNDS IN THE JOBS FOR PROGRESS, INC., SER SUBCONTRACT BY PROVIDING FOR AN ADDITIONAL 28 ENROLLEES; ALL AS IS MORE FULLY SET FORTH 1N SAID GRANT MODIFICATION PROPOSALS, COPIES OF WHICH, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE SAME FORM, ARE ATTACHED HERETO, MARKED EXHIBIT "A ", AND MADE A PART HEREOF. (OPne ^.Il - • 1 —3— l � -0 MODIFICATION NARRATIVE DESCRIPTION The primary intent of this modification is to add $749,420.88 to the grant and to allocate $389,743.88 of this increase into the work experience program activity and $359,677 into the skill training program activity. , Of the amount being programmed into work experience, $105,689 is being contracted to the City of Corpus Christi, as a program operator, for an addition of 58 enrollees to the on -going work experience program. In addition, the City of Corpus Christi will operate a Senior Aides Program that will cost $35,979 and will serve 50 senior citizens 60 years of age and over. 'These senior aides will be assigned to work experience stations with public and private non - profit agencies and with local governments. The San Patricio Community Action Agency will operate a work experience component in the rural areas at a cost of $64,998 and will service 30 individuals. The increase in the work experience program activity includes $183,077.88 that will be subcontracted to the Corpus Christi Independent School District for the administration and operation of a summer youth work experience program with duration of 3 being a carried over intonthe next efiscal ayear efor i shows the operation ofthe$ 8 summer program during July and August. The POP also shows 840 summer program partici- pants p ogram willsbe this carry-over August 311,e1975Tto provide r summer continuity. The Texas Employment Commission subcontract is being increased by $3592677 to provide skill training in Del Mar College and Bee County College.
