HomeMy WebLinkAbout12552 ORD - 03/26/1975MLM:VMR :3- 24- 75;1ST AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CITY BUDGET; APPROPRIATING $9,1410 OUT OF THE NO. 207 PUBLIC BUILDING BOND FUND TO SUPPLE- MENT PREVIOUS APPROPRIATIONS FOR THE ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES OF SWANSON HIESTER WILSON CLAYCOMB (SHWC, INC.) IN CONNECTION WITH THE DESIGN OF THE HEAVY EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE BUILDING WITHIN THE MUNICIPAL SERVICE CENTER, PROJECT NO. 207 -72 -6; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. THERE IS HEREBY APPROPRIATED THE SUM OF $9,1+10 OUT OF THE N0. 207 PUBLIC BUILDING BOND FUND TO SUPPLEMENT PREVIOUS APPROPRIATIONS FOR THE ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES OF SWANSON HIESTER WILSON CLAYCOMB (SHWC, INC.) IN CONNECTION WITH THE DESIGN OF THE HEAVY EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE BUILDING WITHIN THE MUNINIPAL SERVICE CENTER, PROJECT N0. 207 -72 -6. SECTION 2. AMENDMENT OF THE CITY BUDGET TO ACCOMPLISH THE PURPOSE 1 OF THIS ORDINANCE IS NECESSITATED FOR EMERGENCY EXPENDITURE IN GRAVE PUBLIC NECESSITY TO MEET UNUSUAL AND UNFORESEEN CONDITIONS, WHICH COULD NOT, BY REASONABLE DILIGENT THOUGHT AND ATTENTION OF THE GOVERNMENT OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, HAVE BEEN INCLUDED IN THE CURRENT, ORIGINAL BUDGET OF THE CITY. SECTION 3. THE NECESSITY TO ADEQUATELY COMPENSATE THE ARCHITECTURAL FIRM FOR DESIGN SERVICES AS ABOVE SET FORTH CREATES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION BUT THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR HAVING DECLARED SUCH EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY TO EXIST, AND HAVING REQUESTED THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT FROM AND AFTER ITS PASSAGE, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, THIS THE DAY OF MARCH, 1975.
