HomeMy WebLinkAbout12582 ORD - 04/02/19750 MLM:jkh:hb:3 /31/75:1st AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CITY BUDGET, AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF CHANGE ORDER N0. 1 IN THE AMOUNT OF $7,000 TO THE CONTRACT WITH THE GOLDSTON COMPANY, INC., IN CONNECTION WITH THE MC GEE BEACH IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT, SAID CHANGE ORDER BEING FOR THE RELOCATION OF APPRaM4ATELY 2000 CUBIC YARDS OF SAND, AS SET FORTH IN THE CHANGE ORDER, A SUBSTANTIAL COPY OF WHICH IS ATTACHED HERETO, MARKED EXHIBIT °A", AND MADE A PART HEREOF; APPROPRIATING $7,000 OUT OF THE NO. 291 PARR BOND FUND APPLICABLE TO PROJECT N0. 291 -72 -1; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to execute Change Order No. 1 in the amount of $7,000 to the contract with The Goldston Company, Inc., in connection with the McGee Beach Improvements Project,'No. 291 -72 -1, said change order being for the relocation of approximately 2000 cubic yards of sand, as set forth in the change order, a copy of which is attached hereto, marked Exhibit "A" and made a part hereof. SECTION 2. There is hereby appropriated out of the No. 291 Park Bond Fund the sum of $7,000 for the aforesaid change order in connection with the McGee Beach Improvements Project, Project No. 291- 72 -1. SECTION 3. Amendment of the City Budget to accomplish the purposes of this ordinance is necessitated for emergency expenditure in grave public necessity to meet unusual and unforeseen conditions, which could not, by reasonable diligent thought and attention of the Government of the City of Corpus Christi, have been included in the current, original Budget of the City. SECTION 4. The necessity to authorize execution of the change order described above and to make appropriation of necessary sums in order that the project may be continued without delay creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution 12582 shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY So ORDAINED this tbea y of April, 1975. Sand material is to be removed above approximate elevation 0.72 (C.& G. Survey datum) and hauled and uniformly spread or shaped to extend existing beach seaward thereby increasing width of existing beach. Sand material to be moved, shaped and completed by May 1, 1975.
