AN ORDINANCE•
AMENDING THE CITY BUDGET; APPROPRIATING $10,396 OUT
OF THE NO. 295 STORM SEWER BOND FUND APPLICABLE TO
PROJECT NO. 295 -72-16 TO REIMBURSE mUECES COUNTY FOR
THE COST OF OVERSIZING A PORTION OF THE DRAINAGE OUT -
FALL SYSTEM WHICH IS TO SERVE THE NUECES COUNTY COURT-
HOUSE COMPLEX, SAID OVERSIZING TO PERMIT ABANDONMENT
OF AN OLD LINE WHICH CROSSES PRIVATE PROPERTY AND TO
PROVIDE DRAINAGE FOR THE CARRIZO STREET AREA; AUTHOR-
IZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH
NUECES COUNTY, AND SUCH OTHER INSTRUMENTS AS MAY BE
NECESSARY TO ACCOMPLISH SAID CONSTRUCTION; AND DECLAR-
ING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated out of the No. 295
Storm Sewer Bond Fund the sum of $10,396 applicable to Project No. 295 -72 -16
to reimburse Nueces County for the cost of oversizing a portion of the drain-
age outfall system which is to serve the Nueces County Courthouse Complex,
said oversizing to permit abandonment of an old line which crosses private
property and to provide drainage for the Carrizo Street area.
SECTION 2. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized
to execute an agreement and such other instruments as may be necessary, with
Nueces County, in order to accomplish the aforesaid construction.
SECTION 3. Amendment of the City Budget to accomplish the purposes
of this ordinance is necessitated for emergency expenditure in grave public
necessity to meet unusual and unforeseen conditions, which could not, by
reasonable diligent thought and attention of the Government of the City of
Corpus Christi, have been included in the current, original Budget of the
City.
SECTION 4. The necessity to appropriate the hereinabove described
funds and to execute the necessary instruments to accomplish at the earliest
practicable date the construction outlined hereinabove creates a public emergency
and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter
rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date
of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at
three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared
such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension
of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date

of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect_ from
and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED , this the IL

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing
ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspen-
sion of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall
be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or
resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore,
request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordi-
nance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the
City Council.
