AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE BUDGET OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1974 -1975 BY CANCELLING $369,332 OF THE ORIGINAL $493,468 APPROPRIATION FROM THE FIFTH REVENUE SHARING ENTITLEMENT PERIOD FOR THE SUPPORT OF THE TRANSIT FUND; REAPPROPRIATING $369,332 TO THE FIFTH REVENUE SHARING ENTITLEMENT PERIOD RESERVE; APPROPRIATING $369,332 FROM THE GENERAL FUND UNAPPROPRIATED SURPLUS FOR A WORKING CAPITAL ADVANCE TO THE TRANSIT FUND PENDING RECEIPT OF A TRANSIT SYSTEM OPERATIONAL GRANT FROM THE URBAN MASS TRANSPORTATION ADMINISTRATION; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the Budget of the City of Corpus Christi for the fiscal year 1974 -1975, adopted by Ordinance No. 12220, be amended by cancelling $369,332 of the original $493,468 appropriation from the Fifth Revenue Sharing Entitlement Period for the support of the Transit Fund; reappropriating $369,332 to the Fifth Revenue Sharing Entitlement Period Reserve; and appropriating $369,332 from the General Fund Unappropriated Surplus for a working capital advance to the Transit Fund pending receipt of a Transit System operational grant from the Urban Mass Transportation Administration. SECTION 2. Amendment of the City Budget to accomplish the purposes of this ordinance is necessitated for emergency expenditure in grave public necessity to meet unusual and unforeseen conditions, which could not, by reasonable diligent thought and attention of the Government of the City of Corpus Christi, have been included in the current, original Budget of the City. SECTION 3. The necessity to amend the Budget as herein- above set forth creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance take effect 12592 ' and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the 000l�G " "- day of April, 1975.
